Even in North Carolina it’s rare to get two days more diametrically opposed than these two. Yesterday was the most beautiful day imaginable–mild, temperate, sunny, perfect for a picnic or a nap in the grass, possibly both. This morning–sheets of rain, dark clouds, hail, frigid blasts of wind… I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: This state’s weather patterns are on crack.

The stress this morning has abated somewhat after a fanatically productive first hour in the office, knocking out items on the to-do list left and right. Still hasn’t subsided completely, but it’s only 10:30–I have the rest of the day to button down.

Nothing interesting this morning, folks, even by my oh-so-lofty standards (note: sarcasm). Actually there are some things–stay tuned for a filtered entry later.

Faraway, so close
Up with the static and the radio
With satelite television
You can go anywhere
Miami, New Orleans
London, Belfast and Berlin…

I love this album. Love. Favorite U2 period, no question (1990-1997).

Bono’s lyricism has always been interesting to me. Ever notice how he makes the ends of the sentences rhyme, but in between he’ll pack as many words as possible? I never noticed that until I heard Johnny Cash sing his lyrics in “The Wanderer.” Having someone with their own distinctive vocal style sing Bono’s lyrics really makes their quirks and ideosyncrasies stand out.

Filtered in this case = friends-only. But “filtered” sounds cooler. Oooh.

You look like Kirsten Dunst in that picture. This is not a bad thing.

    Oh… well OMG FRIENDS ONLY.

Thanks. I don’t really see it, but thanks.
