in the interest of posting more pictures
Here are some from the Europe trip six months ago that we’ve just recently gotten to downloading off Donald’s camera.
P.S. — If by some weird chance anybody wants a higher-res version of one or more of these, I have them.

At Dulles in D.C. just before the colossal failure of my paperwork organizational system at the check-in desk. Heh.

Our view from the hotel window in London. The big white building behind the red building, about two blocks away, is Paddington Station, where we arrived from the airport.

Another photo of the street. I’ve no idea what’s up with the shirtless guy.

Your very jetlagged scribe waiting for lunch. And a nice Porsche 944.

Newsstand advertising the best-edited newspaper in the world, the International Herald-Tribune.

Hotel window view near dusk. We headed out to a pub shortly afterwards.

Paris. Sacré-Cœur cathedral, atop the hill in Montmartre.

Looking the other way at the nice tourists and the view of Paris.

Dutch angle shot of Sacré-Cœur. Ominous, no?

One of the restaurant possibilities we considered that evening, “La Maison Rose.” Still in Montmartre.

I really like this one.

Playground. What healthy kids do when there’s no TV or video games around. Amazing, eh?

“Le Chat Noir,” a brasserie in the red light district.

The Elysium herself in the square in Montmartre, pre-dinner.

Much later, in Stuttgart at the Mercedes-Benz museum during our “guy day.” Aaron’s standing next to a ’55 300SL Gullwing, worth about $1M. No foolin’.

Switzerland. Near Interlaken, on the road to Lauterbrunnen.

In Lauterbrunnen. Just part of the view up the mountains from the hostel.

Next day. Hiking up one side of the valley, this is the view directly across from about halfway up.

More of the same.

Como, Italy.

That’s a big cell phone.

Private garden in Como.

The waterfront. The bay area on that end of the lake is shaped like a crescent.

Nice, France. The view of the Var (river) valley from “our” villa.

Patio + table.

The beach, looking eastward up the coast towards Nice. The buildings are condominiums.

Another view of the villa patio.

The villa itself and our trusty car.

A canopy on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice (long, sweeping boulevard that runs next to the sea).

I took this one by setting the camera down on the stone wall at the edge of the villa patio. It’s the view across the valley and the piedmont of the Alps.

gorgeous pictures. reminded me of my own trip to europe this summer. especially the montmartre pictures. my camera sucks, so i don’t have any good pictures from there. that and the weather was crappy, so i didn’t bother to take a picture of Sacré-Cœur. i’m jealous…
thank you for these pictures. Goes to show how much I miss Europe. Especially London. I’ve been to the Sacred Heart cathedral, too.
Have never been to Italy or Switzerland, but by the look of your pictures, I really should go.
/es/\\e
I so wanted to go with you… but there will be other times.
beautiful… calling to me! Did I tell you I will get to go to Holland this year?
You should definitely visit Italy or Switzerland if you have the chance. If you’re an outdoorsy type there’s ridiculous amounts of stuff to do in Switzerland, and Italy is, well, Italy. ‘Nuff said.
I didn’t know that! This coming year, you mean? So cool.
We really lucked out with the weather. The only rain we got during the whole trip came in Germany, and those were just quickly-passing sprinkles. When were you there?
oh wow.
:)
I think you’ve seen most of those…
the very end of may, beginning of june…visited a friend in paris for a couple of days before going on to my family an hour from stuttgart (in the mountains) for a few days, then on to poland for my brother’s wedding (which was june 12th)
Pssh, that first photo is not at Reagan National, it is at Washington-Dulles!!!
Well… I still appreciate them. A lot.
this goes without saying, but…
please ask Donald to pretty pretty pretty please put most (his good ones?) of the images onto cds and mail them to me? or he could post them online/email them to me?
I want! I want! I want!
:)
PS I also have some very cool pics… (arg, I need to get me some webspace)
Woops! Quite right. Has been corrected. Thanks :)
I’ll e-mail you a more comprehensive reply in the morning. There’s a possibility I could zip the picture files and put them on my webspace or just gmail them to you, but I can do all that at work tomorrow, along with webspace possibilities, blah blah blah.
I need sleep. Now to get some :)
(sweet dreams?)
:)
Also… what’s up with you and your friends all being so Good Looking? Are you discriminatory against Plain Folk?
Whuh? How do you figure? I can assure you that the constituents of our group were chosen at random from the widest array of applicants possible. All very scientific, you know.
:) Happy Wednesday that feels like Friday!
