I’m in my office at the moment working on some freelance stuff. I walked in about a minute ago to find…

…that there are SLUGS in here. Two of them at least. Or something equally slimy. Crawling on the floor. How did they get in here? I’ve no idea.

This is NOT going to work. Nopenopenopenopenopenope. Especially when I accidentally stepped on one, thinking it was just a leaf.

Gaaah. Mind over matter. Must work.

Edit (12:01): Crisis averted. Stand down from Red Alert. I located a dustpan and humanely scooped up the non-squished slug and deposited him outside in the humid night air, where he belongs. Now, more work.

I can’t work at my apartment anymore . . . there are flying creatures everywhere. They bug me way too much (pun not intended)!

Oh, GROOOOOOSSSSSSS! Aren’t slugs, well, your big eew thing?

When I was a kid I poured salt on them. Slugs.

Ah, the joys of living in Florida… Creepy crawly things everywhere. I lived in St. Augustine for about six months, during which time I was serenaded to sleep on a nightly basis by a symphony of frogs just outside my window. Fortunately my apartment was on the first floor, so it was a little less intense than it otherwise would have been… :o)

Invertebrates in general (excluding bugs and spiders) are, indeed, my “big ew thing.” Jellyfish, slugs, snails, octopi, starfish, etc… They all give me the creeps.

Do you have a big ew thing?

Ooh, and if you take the first letter off the “nopenope…” and place it at the end, it just sounds like I accidentally locked myself in the office and I’m starting to flip out. Heh.
