Just started a load of laundry. Donald’s in the living room sleeping on the couch, Olympic coverage still playing on the television. I taped most of the evening’s coverage for Aaron, who’s on his way back from his annual trip to family camp up in Wisconsin. Watching it really makes me want to get back in shape again. Not that I’ve ever really been out of shape, but I haven’t lifted in far too long, and I could be pushing myself more on my runs… Wish I hadn’t misplaced my watch at the wedding a couple of weekends ago–I ran earlier tonight and kept up quite a good pace for 4 miles instead of the usual 3 and a half. I think the cooler, less humid air in the wake of the hurricane helped.

Another 20-odd minutes before the laundry’s done. I’m haphazardly watching episodes of Scrubs, Top Gear, and ATHF that Donald’s downloaded on the computer. Garden State comes out in our area on Friday; we’re going to get a group to go, I think. Looking forward to that.

In other film/music news, just discovered Vienna Teng. Great stuff–beautiful voice, intelligent lyrics, stellar arrangements, and melody. It’s lush, intricate chamber pop. I’m enjoying it greatly–her songs have a depth to them that I admire.

I only have her first album, Waking Tree. So far my favorites are “Say Uncle,” “Enough to Go By,” and “Eric’s Song.”

I think that my favorite song from Waking Hour is “Gravity,” but it’s hard to say as I’m not very familiar with that album.
