Wow, that went really well. Lunch date at Foster’s with Natalie, and I had a thoroughly good time. Great sandwich, great conversation, and she plays racquetball and tennis. This is huge. I’ve never met a girl who I’ve had chemistry with who was into one sport, let alone both. Wow. It’s amazing to meet someone who shares many of my more arcane interests, like the sports mentioned, or anything else besides the obvious things like movies, music, etc. So it may not sound like much, but from wider perspective being into those things is disproportionately interesting. I’ll admit; I didn’t have huge expectations built up over the meeting, but much to my surprise conversationally it just worked–we had places to go after I’d ask or she’d ask the more mundane questions, and we actually conversed intelligently about diverse subjects. Usually it’s like slamming into a conversational brick wall after they give the obvious response… So I knew that I wanted to befriend her at least on a casual level, but now it’s almost looking like it could be a much closer friendship (not even the romantic kind). I was impressed.
