No KC trip, it’s looking like. Matt Everson was the only person interested in going, which drove up the hotel cost considerably, besides the driving and time commitments, among other things… I’m more than a little bummed. But it’s all for the best, I think. I’ll be able to man the sign-up table on Sunday for the Car Care Saturday at the beginning of next month, instead of having to get one of my guys to do it, and I’ll be able to go to Heather and Leslie’s New Year’s eve party, and just have more time with the family…
So there were reasons both ways. Part of me feels like I really wasn’t moving in faith, like I didn’t believe that God really wanted me there, in Kansas City, attending the conference, but another part of me feels like sometimes we commit to anything and everything without choosing our battles and events and such… I don’t know.
Aaron’s been wanting to go skiing in WV during break, just a day trip, probably to Winterplace or Wintergreen. Anybody else up for it, maybe Monday or Tuesday? For those of you elsewhere in the country, we could meet you there…

Yeah, I’m bummed about it, but at least I’ll have more time for friends and family… So that’s good.

my friends and i were talking about going on a ski trip one of these days. i’m no good at it. it’s actually pretty funny to watch. every time i try to move, i just end up falling. at least i can provide some entertainment. :)

It’s held at regular intervals, I believe… Not sure what the impetus for attending this particular one was–perhaps that it was New Year’s eve? Regardless, it is a bummer.
Well see, here’s the thing about skiing: Over half the time spent out there is spent going back up the slopes on the chairlift, during which time skill doesn’t really matter, and you get to share candy bars and talk with your friends. So it doesn’t matter as much as you’d think about your proficiency :o) At least that’s the way I see it.
