The movie Out of Sight has some of the best chemistry I’ve ever seen in a film. The air between Jennifer Lopez and George Clooney is just palpable at times, especially during the seduction scene at the hotel bar, intercut with another scene… The sexual tension hanging in that conversation is substantial. I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen, and not for the reasons you might expect. In a way I thought it was a shame they showed what they did, since I just wanted to hear more repartees. It’s like a French character study film in a lot of ways, where the idea of a plot is almost incidental, secondary to the dialogue and observation of the personalities playing off one another.

Bought a real, hardwood dining room table today. Tomorrow I’ll be shopping for plants and beanbags and sleeping. Not shopping for sleeping. Actually sleeping.

    shopping for sleeping…

Hmm… at the rate I am going… perhaps I do need to actually shop for sleep, though I wonder if I could bargain it down to a good deal? I’ve only got a few quetzales to spare…

By and large, I’ve found, the price of sleep is cheaper during the summer, though a lot depends on the merchant you get it from. Some can drive a hard bargain. And on top of all that, you’ll have to deal with exchange rates in Guatemala–not a promising prospect.

    Just another week, yes?

then sleep when I am back in Chapel Hill?

    I doubt it ;)
