I watched far too many movies last week. Finally, finally saw Gladiator last night. I don’t know why I hadn’t seen it before now. I’m a big Ridley Scott fan. Thought it was good–I think the movie can be enjoyed on several different levels, just watching it on a surface level, or delving into the intricacies of the plot and characters and their motivations. I was in the first mode last night, so I didn’t get my brain more involved than I had to, and it was a good standard epic picture. Maybe the next time I see I’ll get more into the shifting loyalties and maneuverings and dependency paradoxes of the film.
I took a few minutes this morning to cut and paste all our correspondance into a Word file and print it out, so I can clear her folder out of my email account. 89 pages, single-spaced, 10 point font (it’s a novel). And that’s just since last September. It was rather depressing, but it will help me put that episode behind me and move forward.
