i can walk down waverly

and catch a glimpse of you and you
and you and you and you with me

Private pilot checkride tomorrow morning at 8. Including the oral and practical parts, it should last all morning. I feel confident with everything except for my soft field landings, but my instructor and I are meeting an hour early tomorrow morning to get some of those in.

Clear and windy today. I flew solo down to Lexington and back, trying to get in as much practice as I could before the wind picked up. The maximum crosswind capability of the airplane on landing is 15 knots (~17 mph) perpendicular to the axis of the runway, and it was close to it when I returned to Sugar Valley around 9 this morning. But I remembered my crosswind techniques and got the plane on the ground smoothly and safely. I’ll take that landing to the bank.

Edit (11:23): I take it back. I’m really just enamored of this one song at the moment. For best results, crank up.

    ;~)

nothing great about it, I did that every day between August and November 2004. I used to live at the junction of Waverly and 1st.

did you delete the name of the band where you first refered to them? or am i just blind?

  3. admin says:

The name of the band is Tammany Hall NYC, with or without the NYC.

Is the private pilot check ride for your license? I mean, do I have a friend who is a pilot now (well, besides the other pilot friends I have)?? :)

Hope the ride was a complete success! An update is needed as a follow up to this post. Haven’t seen you in forever. Hope all is well in your camp. I’m headed to D.C. for the weekend and a couple days next week to visit Mallory. Should be much fun.

Tell Diane hello!! Have you made her and Luke your lasagna yet?

    Later,

    ~ M

Hi Meredith. No, no lasagna yet for Diane and Luke. Evidently her mom has quite a recipe as well so I may be banned from making it :) We’ll see. Have fun in D.C. this weekend! I’ve been keeping up with your blog–the possibilities there sound really exciting.

That’s really funny…Rachel’s mom has “quite a recipe” too. Maybe everyone thinks their mothers have “the recipe” for lasagna. I know I think mom has a great recipe…

Maybe so. Mom’s lasagna is really good and she’s the one who taught me, so… Yeah. Your theory holds water.

Don’t fall off the bike tonight :)
