I swear the posts concerning her will taper off at some point. I know you’re all begging to be spared. I’m going over to her house tomorrow to fix dinner (chicken fajitas) with her and Luke and the rest of the family.
We traded pictures today. I made her a small folder on my webspace where I consolidated (the few) pictures of me where I felt I was reasonably photogenic. I signed on AIM later and she sent me some of her. The overwhelming thought in my mind as one after another came through onto my screen was, “YES.” Yes that I wanted this, that I wanted her. Yes that it is a face, such a face, that I could look at for a long, long time. And yes that I cannot believe how fortunate I am to be accepted by such beauty. It makes the experience more tenuous (since I feel like I have less than ever to recommend myself to her) and more wonderful at the same time. I shan’t share all of them with you, but it was interesting to almost experience a different moment, a new facet of her personality through the quality of each image.
I love this one in particular. I can very much see it printed out on photo paper and taped to the instrument panel of the plane while I fly. I want to do that.
it’s nice to have someone to feel slightly obsessed with (in a good way), isn’t it?
Actually it is. Weird how so much focus in that one area in of my life can bring other areas into focus as well (managed correctly).
i think it’s great, everything, your developing relationship, a mild obsession with her etcetera etcetera. it’s almost a mild flavor on intoxication, something that makes you dizzy, almost. enjoy it while it lasts.
but it’s all about the kid. who would not want to be with her, Luke is so adorable.

Umm..on April 8th weekend, I’m taking a motorcycle safety class at Durham Tech…I was wondering if I could borrow your helmet for that. Are you coming back to CH anytime before that? But on the 8th, my class gets out at 6pm and Rachel and I would love to meet up with you guys. Maybe ice cream or something after the symphony? Let me know. Thanks bro.
It is all about him. And her, too. That’s part of the learning curve for me–how to build a relationship with him and yet woo her (because she more than deserves to be). Fortunately taking initiative to get to know Luke, as I want to, usually ends up winning her over as well.

I’m coming home tomorrow for a bit to do my taxes and possibly visit with folks. I’ll remind myself to bring my helmet home then. It might be a little big for you, but it’s never been used ON a bike and you’re welcome to it for the class.
I’ll let you know about that weekend. We’d love to see you but it’s going to be pretty crazy all around :)
