- Some of the stuntwork here is amazing (and hilarious). All the more so given the commercials were produced in the mid-’80s.
- Saw these guys at a local venue last Friday night. They were actually quite good–the music was well-mixed, reasonably melodic and varied and the singer could actually sing instead of just screaming into the mic like the band that followed. It appears they’ll be in Raleigh in a couple of days at the Pour House. Recommended.
- Also, Eyes to Space is coming to W-S in a week or so. I saw them at the Cradle a couple of years ago and enjoyed the show very much. I’d really like to see them here.
- Got the tuneup done on my car this afternoon with little drama. Charlie came over after lunch and we jabberjawed (Larry’s word) over the car with the hood propped (always a great environment for conversation). He’s been a great addition to the church group and I enjoy hanging out with him very much. Laid back, similar interests and he’s up for most anything. Not to mention a Monty Python fan.

Can I just say, I love how they put the blinker on to turn in the Metro there at the end… so following the letter of the law (except for the fact that they’re driving in the Metro station!)

okay. how did they do that drive-on-left-two-wheels thing? tell me that wasn’t a real stunt.
It’s absurd, isn’t it?
And yet strangely exuberant and wonderful.
Hell, I’d buy one.
Jump car through French fountain over second car whose path is perpendicular to mine while grooving to Karaja’s She Moves.
I’m trying to decide which stunt deserves the prize: That one or the one where the cars “jump” across the Seine on the riverboat. It’s hard.
That’s actually one of the easier stunts they do. I’ve seen it in circus acts and in movies (a recent Bond movie in particular–the name escapes me at the moment).
I was wondering that too, but… but the jumping across the Seine didn’t show the final landing. For all we know the cars just fell in the water after they “bounced” off the boat. : ) So the fountains win for me.
I love how they have their blinkers on in the subway station…like another car’s gonna come and cut them off…
I want one (or two, rather)
more imporantly: i want to be able to drive like that.
PS your comment that you’d buy one means nothing, since you’d pretty much buy anything that at least had a drawing of an engine in it.

How strange is it that we would mention and link Eyes To Space on the same exact day? and yes, they’re awesome.
Your post actually made me think about them. I started thinking, “Gee, I wonder what they’re up to nowadays. I really enjoyed that show.” And through the magic of the internet, I found they had a gig in the area.
