Who needs repairmen?
David and I fixed the heater motor just a few minutes ago, braving the recesses and convoluted confines of the basement. It had been sticking completely and making the most annoying buzz imaginable without actually heating the house, but instead secreting a faint gas odor from the vents. We pulled the motor assembly out of the heater unit altogether, took it apart, cleaned it, lubed it and reinstalled it. I turned the circuit breakers back on, walked upstairs and switched the thermostat back on. David and I were talking and didn’t even hear the motor start–it was that smooth and quiet. Talk about a sense of accomplishment. We high-fived and had some chocolate ice cream + Irish cream to celebrate. My roommates are awesome.
Maybe this means my heating bill for next month will be less than $300. I can only hope.

The whole thing sounds so manly until you add the bit about having chocolate ice cream to celebrate (even with the Baileys on top)!
Glad you stopped the gas from secreting throughout the house though… you know, come to think of it, that may have been an underlying factor in the sporadic whistling!
LOL @ Queen lyrics and “We high-fived and had some chocolate ice cream + Irish cream to celebrate”.

Like a canary in a coal mine? :)
I’m glad to have removed the threat of kaboom.
Karl got back from Germany over the weekend and brought this bar of genuine Swiss milk chocolate to work… It was amazing.
I was thinking more along the lines of carbon monoxide induced confusion from the lack of oxygen. Usually you hear about people who get weak and disoriented before they realize what is happening…
But yes, I’m likewise glad there won’t be a kaboom.
Mmm, Swiss chocolate. I want to go to Switzerland.
Not just for chocolate though.
How are you to-day, M?
