terebithia
We closed on the house yesterday. Want to live in Winston-Salem? I’m looking for two roommates. Pass the word. Must be very clean, quiet and responsible. Psychos are right out.

Sweet!
The floors are lovely.
Mom & Dad
Wow. You’re living in a house, Paul’s living in an apartment, and now I’m living in a house too. I’m going to be moving my bed, dresser, and other things out as soon as I get back pretty much. Mom and Dad might get a little lonely. Your room’s now the TV room, Paul’s is essentially storage, and I don’t know what mine will become. They’ll have to get creative. Maybe they can rent it out :o) That’s just weird thinking about how we’re all out of the house now…along with all our stuff. Good luck!
You and Cyrus feel like hanging out in W-S for, oh, at least the next or so? :)
I know… All that empty space upstairs. Mom and Dad are running out of hobbies to fill the rooms. Maybe your room will be Dad’s new “Penny Room.”
you should paint a sign ‘terebithia’ and put it on the mailbox ;)
good book, although to be honest i have only the vaguest of memories of the story beyond remembering laying on my stomach in my treehouse while reading it…
I have vague memories of it too. It was the first Newbery-ish book I read way back in the day.
Random bit of trivia: There is an island in C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia series called Terebinthia (with an “n”). It’s mentioned in passing in Voyage of the Dawn Treader (the 3rd book) but never again.
I wonder if there is a latin/gaelic root for it…
(must google it when I get home) ;)
Congrats! Looks like you have several big closets…always a plus.
So you got the house with the cool foyer, eh? Good man. Time to get creative.
And maybe you could play a good game of catch or frisbee in the back yard? Looks big enough…
Creative nothing. I’m all about functionality, especially in a place I know I’m going to be at for a finite period of time. But decoration suggestions are always welcome, and I have a feeling there will be no dearth of them from my moving assistants :)
