Went shopping Thursday night. Bought a blazer, a belt, and a pair of loafers. It’s taken them a while to get broken in but I think I can walk around in them now without blistering. Friday the office wasted about an hour and a half that afternoon watching The Screaming Skull, a cheesy 1958 horror B-movie. We all crammed into David’s office and snacked on Halloween cookies and popcorn. I got a really sweet e-mail from FĂ©licie that afternoon. She’s evidently studying something or other in Martinique, French Antilles. I slept in too late on Saturday, but got up eventually and tried to run some errands. Kyle ended up ambushing me at the apartment, so he tagged along as I shopped for coasters (all the ones we have I think were stolen from Outback Steakhouse), took videos back (A Mighty Wind and The Royal Tenenbaums), bought a cd, and ran a few other errands. We had dinner at Arby’s, then met up with Reagan on Franklin St and I had “second dinner” at Pepper’s. Then I came home, watched baseball, and stayed up too late. Sunday I made it to church in time for the sermon, thank goodness, went to the State-UNC soccer match (which State lost), and played racquetball with Natalie for about an hour. Came home, watched more baseball, stayed up too late again, got up and threw some clothes on, and here I am.

I didn’t even clean my room, do laundry, or work on a car, and it’s oppressively grey today. Daniel’s car got towed from the apartment complex last week and this is the first chance I’ve had to go retrieve it (the place isn’t open on the weekends). With a $25/day storage fee it’s going to cost me a pretty penny to get it back, if it’ll even start and run that is. I hate cars. Hate them.

I say hit the restart button.

But then again, search around a bit and you might find doom.exe floating around somewhere. I usually do when looking through dos.

Our old IBM PC AT didn’t have a restart button (not to mention more than a mind-blowing 20 megs of hard drive space). When it crashed the ritual was turn computer off, wait for hard drive to spin down, turn computer back on. And that was that.

I think I just want to play some “Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego?”
