afternoon notes

Published on October 13, 2004

1. The sun’s out again and I want a nap. I got ~7 hours last night, more than usual, but I could always use more.

2. When I arrived at the Holloway’s last night with a replacement headlight for their car, the existing item had already miraculously fixed itself. No joke. I didn’t do a thing, and neither did they, and it’s working now. Rather providential… Took a look at the intermittent window switches too, and after a few tests the problem seems to be with the motors rather than the switches. I had hoped the switches just needed some good cleaning, but that didn’t do it. Looks like I’ll be calling Mercedes boneyards.

3. Sarah wants to play tennis with Aaron and me, assuming I can track down another player for a doubles game. This is good.

4. This song is amazing (if you mind, Lindsey, I’ll take it down immediately).

5. I haven’t done much of the reading for theology group tonight. It shouldn’t be amazingly involved, though, since Kyle assured us we’d be done in time to watch the debate at 9.

6. I’m going to run this as a “tuneup” race before the half-marathon, something I’m still looking for… Should be fun. But whatever happens, race or no eventual race, the training schedule has really been a boon for my runs. Just the fact of having the day’s goal as far as distance written down helps motivation in a big way. It’s a pattern I intend to maintain.
