As usual, my nervousness surrounding the get-together last night was completely unmerited. Great group, very approachable, friendly and inclusive. It was a great Bible study in that the discussion consisted of everyone just sharing their reactions to the passage we read (Romans 12 in this case), instead of cloaking our responses in church-isms and patent responses with no obvious bearing on reality. There was a real effort to decipher the relevance of the passage to us individually, in a what-does-it-mean-to-you sense. I liked it.
It’s amazing how refreshing getting together with people can be every once in a while. On many occasions I’ve walked into a youth leaders’ meeting or some other gathering feeling like the entire weight the day (or week) was pressing down on my shoulders, and left refueled and bright-eyed. I don’t exactly understand how it works, since I don’t feel the change until afterwards, but I shan’t overanalyze it.
Seamech wants me to fly out to Albuquerque next Tuesday to present concepts for the seat design… *sigh* I think I should have asked for more money. Ah well.

Oooh, Albuquerque is neat.
