Went home last night for a few trivialities and ended up bringing my accordion back to the apartment to play. It’s been a long time since I’d played last (10 years?), so I needed to lengthen the straps a bit, but I found my music stand, all my old music, and the songs were coming back to me, albeit slowly. I’ve decided I want to take the instrument back up again. I’m encouraged in my endeavor by the knowledge that my first accordion teacher had a similar lapse in his attention towards the instrument, only to pick it back up many years later and master it. So compared to him, I’m getting a head start, though admittedly I probably wasn’t as good at fifteen as he was at twelve. But who knows. If I can play “Bianche Marguerite” and “Occhi Scuri” with feeling by the summer I’ll be happy. Just a little every day…

Turns out the whole “victory” last week as far as the Supra was concerned (where it was running and driving around) was a false one. After innumerable frustrations, the wiring harness is off the car again and winging its way towards the Netherlands, where it will be picked over and corrected by someone whose wiring expertise is much greater than mine. So perhaps in a few weeks we should have a running car? *sigh*

Gazette day today. Looking forward to raiding the M&M dispenser again :o)

That’s so cool that you’re picking up the accordion again. Go you. :)

Hope you’re having a good day!

    You’re terrible, you know :o)

And thanks… It was nice to get the music in front of me and have my hands actually remember what to do.

It’s been pretty good so far. Windy, overcast, and a little chilly, but it’s not too bad. I’ll take it over rain :o)

    Yeah, I know…

Wait. I just noticed that the “first accordion teacher” part is a link. This guy’s famous? If so, does that make you famous by association?

Well… He’s a local cult fav, if that counts. So perhaps I have a local cult following by association? That would be cool.
