Bought another Aphex Twin album last night… I love it so far. It’s beautiful ambient electronica, and the way the soundscapes are so sparse and, just, alien… Which isn’t to say it’s overly synthetic, either; somehow it manages to maintain a certain warmth in spite of the music’s means of creation. Thumbs up.

ahhh, the selected ambient works are EXCELLENT. two of my picks – cliffs and pulsewidth. aphex is a genius.
“Pulsewidth” is excellent. I’m a fan of “Schottkey 7th Path,” as well, and “Xtal” is gorgeous.
Do you have Vol.2? What’s your opinion on it? I thought it was a bit TOO sparse, though it does fit in the strictly “ambient” category better than Vol.1.
