Moving to new BT. Sure, it’s completely synthetic, but it’s progressive, sweeping, and has more warmth than your typical run-of-the-mill vocal trance. I dig it.
Got all my shopping done in about three hours, as predicted, and had a great time with Donald to boot. I don’t usually enjoy malls, but it wasn’t terribly packed, and we worked in some talk about and shopping for our Europe trip, which colored the proceedings with a hint of expectancy, to make it exciting.
Of course I didn’t shop for Donald, since he was there, and I’m going to make cards and mix cds for certain people, but the actual shopping is done. I shan’t divulge what I got people on the (very slight) chance they might read this, but I hope they’ll be pleased.
I very rarely spend such quantities of money in one evening, and my penchant for music took advantage of it for a bit, as I ducked into the music store intent on a cd for myself. I was looking for Innocence Mission, since I had listened to them at another store a while back, but had opted for Over the Rhine instead. I almost got Mazzy Star too, but my natural frugality caught me and I walked out… I need to find out what’s good by them before I go for the cd. I’m sure I’ll like it, but… I dunno. I need to drop by Schoolkids again so I can find what I really want. Best Buy and Walmart just don’t cut it for the obscure stuff. Well, that and I need to make a list before I go in, since anything I had solely in my mind evaporates completely as soon as I walk in. Same principle as in a video store.
It’s been a good day. I slept very well last night, and long, got up when I wanted to, took my time getting ready for the day, printed out the Christmas cards, went back to my parents’ house, folded all of them (a surprisingly zen-like experience), drove back to the apartment, made myself some ravioli, took a (hot) shower, made my list, shopped with Donald, returned, watched SNL, and here I am. Nice. I feel…clear. Wide-eyed. Good.
