la cuisine et autres choses
Okay, so I’m a big proponent of kitchen dancing. It makes otherwise mundane chores like cleaning up, doing the dishes, and compiling the trash not chores at all, but quite pleasant experiences. It’s an amazing transformation, really.
I’m trying to cut back on my sugar intake. It dawned on me a few days ago that I eat an enormous amount of the stuff, what with my consumption of energy bars, sugared gum, peanut butter toast, and the like… I’m also going to make more of an effort to really cook. I get really tired of coming home and plopping in another rice dish or having a few slabs of pita bread for dinner. So who knows. I might even attempt fish this week. If it’s on sale, that is. In the meantime, something rather daring involving chicken is slated for tonight. Well, if we don’t have the leadership meeting, that is. In that case I just may have to toss something together.
I need to calm down. I’m feeling uncommonly jumpy today for some reason. It’s not the most comfortable feeling in the world. I’m just…keyed up. I don’t like it. Calm down. One thing at a time. Okay.

haha
You should get tilapia. Hahahahaha.
I don’t know why that’s so funny to me.
Oh, and about sugar. Reduced fat peanut butter has more sugar than regular peanut butter (at least in Jif brands). And reduced fat peanut butter only has one half less gram of saturated fat (than the original with 3 grams SF), and that’s what really counts. So if you’re trying to cut back on sugar, I’d suggest the Simply Jif, which has only 2 grams of sugar. I’m sure you already know this…. But I mean this is what I know. Haha.
Alright, I’m leaving now. I hope you have a good day! With sugar free sprinkles, even. :)
Sugar-free gum and soda are amazingly easy to get used to. I’ve been chewing Extra (peppermint flavor) and drinking diet A&W recently and can report favorably on them.
Re: peanut butter: try making your own! Whole Foods should have bulk peanut butter for the making. You can mix it with honey for extra sweetness. An added bonus is the lack of partially hydrogenated oils, which contain trans fats, which are appallingly bad for you.
chicken with salsa and melted cheese on top is really really good, and rather easy to do. give it a shot haha.
Whoa. That would be really good… I’ll have to give it a shot. We have the salsa; I just need to pick up some cheese on the way home. So is that what you eat in Carroll these days? :o)
I like sugarfree gum, but after chewing too much of it I get a headache from the artificial sweetener. I have to chew, like, a LOT, but it’s still there. And diet soda… Hmm. That’s something I never could drink. I think I just need the sweetness of regular cola, perhaps?
Hmm… Maybe I will try that (making my own PB). I’ve had success with hummus, and one spread can’t be that different from the next, can it? :o)
ti·la·pi·a, n.
Any of various cichlid fishes of the genus Tilapia, native to Africa but introduced elsewhere as a valuable food fish.
Haha I had to look it up again. But right after I typed it in dictionary.com I remembered our conversation :o)
I didn’t know that reduced fat PB had more sugar… news to me. I’ll have to find that Simply Jif. I’m a Peter Pan man myself, but for a healthier PB I could make an exception…
Hope you’re having a lovely morning :o)
