mercy mercy me
Fifty thousand little things to do… I’m slowly going nuts. Today and tomorrow will make or break this week… Since I have the Gazette this week, the first couple of days really define whether I’m going to be there late or not. Eck. Work.
Edit (2:50): Got a few more little things taken care of… If people would call me back life would be easier, though. Okay I’ll stop. It’s not doing me or anyone else any good to rant about work. I just feel like the stress levels in all areas of my life are really high at the moment–work, cars, youth group, not so much friends, but the stress tends to spill over into that area as well and I find myself feeling guilty about not spending as much time with them as I should, but I need all the time I have for responsibilities sometimes. I feel trapped some days. Maybe a few days off would do me good. The hurricane didn’t really count since I was at work half the day, and… I don’t know. I had a singularly unproductive Saturday a few weeks ago that accomplished nothing as far as helping me relax a bit. So I think I need to pray and ask for some peace and diligence. That’s it.
Well, that and a camping trip :o)

A camping trip! I just told my sister two days ago that we had to go camping. The weather is perfect for it.
Prayers for you and your job. :) Take care, Matt.
Looks like we’re going to go, too. I’m making dinner Saturday night. Whee… Now I really need to buy that toboggan (or beanie–y’know what I mean), ’cause it’s going to be cold; I know it.
Thanks for your prayers. Hope you’re having a huzzahworthy morning!
You get to go camping?! Awesome! So you’re cooking dinner Saturday night… What are you making?
And yes, my morning has been quite huzzahworthy so far — my mom gave me gas money and I got a bottle of Perrier! What about you?
Yes, camping Saturday night at Jordan lake (local lake–obviously). I’ll be making jumbalaya on one of those little Coleman stoves… I’m trying to think of what to put in it besides the mix and smoked sausage. We’ll be getting to the campgrounds fairly late, and I’ll be cooking dinner soon after we arrive, so I guess I could bring some chicken in a marinade or something. Yeah… *sound of rusty “cooking” gears turning in my head*
My morning’s been good. Drove my dad to work this morning, which is not as much of a pain as it might seem–it’s actually kind of affirming to be driving to work in the morning with my dad. It makes us closer, even if we don’t say much the whole ride (but we do).
And I got my billing sheets done, which is always a major pain. We have to account for all the time we’re here at work. If we’re not billing design time to a client (preferable) we’re billing it to Design Services (less desirable). The more time we bill to clients, the more productive we are (in general), so the more “billable” we say we are. And last month I was close to 75% billable, which is pretty darn good. So my recent stress levels are vindicated somewhat :o)
Okay I’m rambling now. Um…how to end this comment…? Huzzah for camping!
