Ever have a shouting match with a rainstorm? It’s wonderful… I started running from the apartment; there was a bit of a sprinkling… which progressed to a shower, and from there quickly to a storm while I was running across the sand. It was tolerable going north, but turning south to return, I began to run into a glorious 20 mph headwind, dark clouds overhead, whitecaps, and the blood-red circle of the sun just visible, sinking low over the tops of the dunes. It was wonderful, plodding exertion *sigh* It reminded me of running through hurricane Floyd more than a few years ago, though I was much, much more drenched then.

It’s marvelous how physically clean something like that makes you feel. I breathe easily as the rain continues to fall outside, tapping the leaves of the palm trees.

I think Italian chicken strips are beginning to become a speciality of mine. They’re certainly getting easier to make. The only down time is the waiting for the marinade. Oops–I had better check on them. Be right back. Sit tight, everyone. Mmm. Perfect. Succulent, tender, and surprisingly low-fat. Yum.
