Another furtive entry at the boss’s desk, while working on Pro/E… It’s actually coming along pretty well–Geno just taught me how to put drafts into the parts; it’s remarkably similar to SolidWorks, the modeling program I used over the summer, so I anticipate a few months before I achieve guru status (just kidding).
I got to rub shoulders with the big bosses yesterday. One of the guys from Hunter (the sailboat division of the company) came over here to Luhrs, and I accompanied him to check out a 30-footer prototype that had just been completed and was sitting just inside the big warehouse. While there, Mr. Warren Luhrs (the owner of the whole kit and caboodle), who lives up in New Jersey or some such place, dropped by, as he is prone to do, to check out the boat with some other bigwigs. I met him; he seemed very personable and actually remembered my name at the end, something by which I was very impressed. The bigshots and I spent a good two hours in the cabin of the prototype discussing minor tweaks and alterations in preparation for the annual Miami boat show. I didn’t say much, but offered my opinion a couple of times, and (I believe) was met with general approval. It was a confidence-booster and helped me learn a lot about what’s involved in production, just being there and talking about various aspects of the boat. ‘Twas cool.
My search for a relatively inexpensive, decent apartment has been unfruitful lately. There’s a good chance I might get the one the romantic side of me really wants to get but the practical side has minor reservations about. It’s not terribly cheap, but I did budget for it, and if I found a roommate, things would be ideal. It’s a two-bedroom, one and a half bath that’s about two blocks from the beach. Anybody want to move to St. Augustine? Only $350 a month… No psychos, please.

hey! good to hear things are going fairly well :)
maybe you’ll find the right place to live soon…
:)
i’ll say another prayer for you..
<><
Brandi
Thanks Brandi :o) I really appreciate the encouragement and the prayers. I’m sure I’ll find someplace by the end of the week. Hope things are going well for you guys too.
Have a great day :o)
so my offer wasn’t good enough? :(
:o) joking.
can you check email, or just livejournal?
and how are you going to keep your boss from know what you used his computer for?
(i wonder if and when i’ll get a response…)
one more thing…
did you ever get the graduation pictures online? i need a recent photo for wycliffe.
:o) hope you had a good lunch.
‘Afternoon :o)
I can’t check my email from this terminal… Apparently the server blocks anything having to do with mail. Slightly odd. I’m sorry :o(
And I’m sorry your test went so badly as you describe it. I wish I could be there for you to vent to… Perhaps it would help things.
I didn’t get a chance to put the pictures online. I forgot three things: my retainer, to clean Twinkie out, and to put the pics up. Once again, I’m sorry… Looks like I’m not much help today. I’ll call you tonight, though :o)
How soon do you need the photograph?
:o)
dear, you make me smile and feel infinitely better.
*sigh* :o)
if only i could give you a hug…
don’t worry about the pictures. i can find some more or perhaps convince your parents to let me scan one of us in myself (as in i will scan it into the computer…i’d rather not have a picture scanned in me… ;).
and i look forward to your call :o) i should be back in after 8.
i hope learning pro-E is going well. i’m going to get a fencing lesson from coach now.
Yes, for goodness’ sake, don’t scan it into yourself. Although I can’t quite visualize what such a thing would look like… Perhaps I shouldn’t try to?
:o) Have a lovely day.
;)
only 350? Wow, pretty cheap…
Anyhoo, I’m glad your “bigwig” thingy went well :)
Finding an apt really sucks. I’ve been going around the various places, and it just seems like there is always something wrong (required 12 month lease, bad location, no ac, etc). Alas, why can’t the perfect place just plop down in my lap from outta nowhere?
