My A/C “fix” didn’t last long. Although the washers worked well to keep the bushings from pulling through the bracket, the remaining vibration was just enough to kill the bearings in the motor. I could have replaced the motor and blower wheel myself, but in the interest of convenience and expediency I countermanded my natural instincts and called a repairman. Our first weekly Truth Project small group is tonight so I’m hopeful it will be fixed by then. However, the weather being as cool as it is outside, the evening will not be unpleasant if it does not happen.
There are days I wish I could go to seminary. Diane and I consume a prodigious amount of reading and viewing material having to do with theology and apologetics and our immersion spurs my desire to contribute to the discipleship of believers in the same way I am receiving it. Our Sunday school leader in church attended seminary but didn’t pursue full-time Christian ministry, instead opting to work in the church’s finance department, so I am learning that having a degree in theology or some such does not necessarily confine one’s vocational prospects.
Luke and I continue to build our relationship. My skillset with regard to taking care of him (changing diapers, bathtime, meal protocol, etc) is nearly complete, so I hope I am able to relieve Diane of the constant, direct responsibility for him as much as I can, certainly when I go over to her house from work. Luke and I go for walks, run errands, learn words and concepts, build with blocks, play with Play-Doh, draw pictures, run pell-mell around the playground, among many other things. I don’t always (or often) show it as expressively as I could, but I am very proud of him. I will always be proud of him.

I can’t think of anything more pure, true, and right than a parent’s unconditioned love for his (her) children. I hope to be a proud dad one day too. Well said, Matt.
