Thank you all for the congratulations! It means a lot to Diane and me. Planning hums along at a suitably breakneck pace. Not only is there a lot to do with regard to the wedding itself, there is a lot to do on the house, to prepare it as much as possible before the date. There is a lot to think about, and a lot of (primarily family) relationships to navigate as well, on top of the actual logistics of everything. It can be difficult, but the optimism inherent in the fact that we are moving toward a place that is within His order, that is stable and profoundly right, is encouraging. I’ve been asked what our plans are for the future, and I’ve responded that our plans for at least the first 6 months after getting married are just to be a family. No flying away to the farthest reaches of the world just yet :) While being sensitive to His voice and the opportunities He brings our way, we are going to endeavor to be situationally stable for at least a little while.
I really think this is going to be a wonderful move for you, Matt. I’ve been following you for years and this feels like the right “happy beginning.”
I thank you all, as well. I second Matt in the various “a lots”. I had NO IDEA what it was going to take to plan my own wedding on short(er) notice and took some details for granted, making some wild assumptions about availability and pricing. Pray for us! Very happy, just very busy!
That six months sounds like heaven…nearly. :o)
