This left me speechless this morning. Cuts through all frothy pretensions and trappings of romance. And even if it’s not the ideal path I would choose, I am most at home with those who realize how small are the doors through which we look into each others’ lives and still… Push off the foothold, vault themselves into that place, even if it’s just a parallel reality of their own conjecture. The optimists.
I’ve read that post before. It is indeed a good one… I think the second to last paragaph is my favourite.
I figured it had probably made more than a few laps around the ol’ LJ world… But it was the first time I’d come across it.

That was beautifully real. Love how easy it is for us to go that far for the others we see, yet find it so hard to make that vault ourselves… yup broke it off with the insurance guy and feeling the insecurity. NEXT. not.
It’s strange that it sometimes seems that every person I know is looking for that romance as if it isn’t what many others so desire.
That was an amazing glimpse through another person’s eyes! So vivid and full of hope.
It just makes me inhale a little deeper than usual… that’s some quality writing.
I like your new icon too! Although, I was rather fond of the block of cinder.

Since we’re talking about icons… that Paris icon is probably my favorite… other than the Zamboni one that I’ve never ever seen you use, it’s a tie between those two.

Just a change in icon preference. There was thought behind the choice of the cinder block but it was never really there aesthetically. Ah well.
And I pull out the Zamboni for special occasions :)
