All hail my plumberly (?) skills! The kitchen sink has been clogged since last night (due I think partly to the fact that I sometimes pour cooking oil down the drain. I’m a Bad Person™), a condition I found out about while watching The Bourne Identity in the living room and hearing Harsha run the disposal in the kitchen for like 30 seconds at a time. And today, after judicious application of Drano and a bent coathanger, the drain is now unclogged and I can do dishes again, my favorite thing. Just felt like sharing that little domestic victory.

do what everyone in my family does for cooking oils. keep a can under the sink (e.g. empty coffee can) and drain oil into that. when it gets either full or too nasty to deal with, toss it. no more drains clogged b/c of oil ^-^

  2. Boy, did I misread that.

I thought that read “All hail my puberty skills!”

    Oh, my.

I’d be a little worried about critters getting into it if I kept it under the sink. I gotta figure out something, though. It stinks up the trash can if I dump it into a cup, let it cool and then just transfer it to the trash. Must concoct system.

At least you didn’t spend five months thinking your dishwasher was broken just to find out there was a light switch on the wall that would “fix” it. All in all, sounds like you’ve got the handiness of man down!

    I second the gold star!

    HAHAHA

Although my puberty skills are undeniable.

Perhaps… but your situation was less messy than mine. Ugh @ backed-up drain dregs :/

I feel compelled to respond with this icon. I don’t know what else to say though… What is your favorite colour? Do you own flannel pajama pants?

  8. eviefencer says:

that’s why my mom uses the coffee cans. has a cover, so it doesn’t attract critters…

I can’t help it. Every time I hear the question, “What is your favorite color?” my mind instinctively conjures up the scene with the Bridgekeeper from MPatHG. It’s terrible.

And no, I do not own flannel pajama pants. I own a pair of pajama pants but they’re not flannel, and I rarely wear them except when I’m very cold. Something about the way long pants twist themselves around my legs every time I move them under the covers… Not very appealing.

    Happy New Year’s Eve!

Hahaha. I haven’t seen that in so long…

That’s a pretty good anti-PJpants argument. I just get way too cold not to wear them.

    Thanks! Same to you :)
