Found possibly the greatest treasure on the web: The Joe Versus the Volcano mp3 page
I know I should be working on my dumb ergonomics paper instead of looking this stuff up, but realistically, which am I going to remember in a week, a month, a year? A paper and the emotions, the nervousness revolving around it, or the things that really matter, i.e. people, events, the positive emotions you don’t feel every day? I know it sounds like a cop-out or a procrastination tactic, and it is, to a certain extent, but I think it’s valid in a more far-sighted light. The idea is rather half-baked at the moment; I think I’d be able to flesh it out more if Tim weren’t playing Ace of Base right now… *sigh*
What is discipline, anyway? On first glance it sounds like an act of willpower, but I know God’s will must be preeminent. I think part of it is allowing God to cultivate and use good habits in your life, positive routines and mindsets. This is a pretty big issue in my life, so I’ll be ruminating on it more later, I’m sure.

you are in utter denial.
it was all, quite simply, procrastination.
you really shouldn’t try to deceive yourself or us.
:o)
i think discipline is doing what you know you have to do, even when you don’t want to, with a large bit of being sensitive to the Holy Spirit. He tells us when we should be working… or sleeping, like now :o)
talk to you in a minute, dear.
just wanted to post
To echo what I was telling you over IM, you’re so supportive, darling :o)
I’m just beginning to understand the full implications of words that I had thrown around for a long time without thinking, discipline being one of them. I completely agree with you, and would only add that it’s a component of character, doing what you have to do even when you don’t feel anything like doing it. Talk to you in a little bit, I’m sure.
p.s. Thanks for the italics. They’re really fun to play around with :o)
