My head’s been in a vise ever since the beginning of the week. Lack of sleep and too much sugarless gum I think are the culprits.

On the positive side of things, I slept with the window open last night and the ceiling fan on. It’s been breezy and cool and dry lately. Makes me want to take a few days off and go camping.

Sugarless gum? Do you prefer your gum sugared?

Well…it’s kind of a no-win situation. Either rot my teeth (sugared gum) or rot my brain (sugarless gum). I tend to go for sugared gum most of the time just because artificial sweetner gives me a headache if I have too much of it, and the minor sugar rush provided can be nice for a little while. But for whatever reason I just went completely sugarless early in the week (gum-wise at least) and now I’m reaping the consequences.

    Riveting stuff, I know :)

I like the new icon! Looks like somebody busted out the Magic Markers™.

Actually, I was bored in the library last week, studying for my finals, and used the pens that were in my purse to doodle – then brought it to my computer, scanned it, and changed the background to black. I don’t know whether I like the white (this one) or the black one better. I’m trying to decide.

I can’t do sugarless gum, unless it’s Trident.

Looks like a t-shirt candidate for sure. I’m digging the black one especially. It just has more of an air of…mystery about it. Okay I made that up.

How is Trident different from other sugarless gums? It certainly doesn’t “clean your sinuses out” like some flavors of the other brands, but what are you thinking of?

I like black backgrounds, for some odd reason. And yes, I know what you mean about “mystery.” If you look at my user pics you can see that since that’s my “secret” journal, it’s all black and white pictures.

Trident is my father’s gum of choice, and so it reminds me of him. I haven’t told you the whole story about how he essentially left me as a child. I usually end up telling that one on the phone at night . . . :-/

or you could just do what I do when I stress out: spend a week being a hermit, reading good/funny books and yeah.

    :)

I just started to get re-social again… tonight I am going to a wine and cheese party (of course, I mean ‘cheese’ in the fact that we will also be watching some monty python as well) ;)

At least you’re in command of your social instincts :)

And I would hesitate to use the adjective “cheesy” to describe Mr. Python and his troupe. Clever, satirical, buffoonish, over-the-top–yes. Cheesy–not so much. What are you going to be watching? The Meaning of Life?

the original series… including the scene with the “crunchy frog” variety of chocolates ;)
