December. Time to dust off the record, methinks.
Yesterday was spicy food overload day. Had Thai for lunch (first time I’d had it–it was the welcome-Karen-to-the-office lunch) and barbeque for dinner, as it was Stephen’s 23rd and that was his choice of restaurant for the get-together. Fortunately, as I was telling Em last night, my stomach lining doesn’t seem the worse for wear.
Am I the only one who thinks the latest crop of Hardee’s commercials are borderline offensive and just really stupid? I’m as much a fan of political incorrectness as the next guy, but there’s a way to lampoon societal conventions in intelligent ways and then there’s just appealing to the lowest common denominator, and Hardee’s seems definitely to be indulging in the latter. I’m specifically referring to the ones showing how inept guys can be at fixing breakfast and the one with the model riding the mechanical bull, eating a burger. There are more, to be sure, but without fail they’re just…tasteless and really dumb. And they don’t make me want to eat there, which I guess is the kicker.
Not that a talking oven mitt is really any more intelligent. Contemplating Arby’s for lunch.

Weird, my boyfriend had Thai food for dinner last night. And he never does that.
I ♥ food. But you wouldn’t know it from looking at me :รพ
I’ve never had Hardee’s. Or Arby’s. What’s the deal?
Yes. Definitely time to dust off the record. They keep playing songs from it at my work and I really appreciate it. :)
My roommate Matt and I were thinking about going to Hardee’s. We are in search of a monster hamburger. Hardee’s does have one. Two-thirds of a pound of “angus beef”, three pieces of cheese, two layers of bacon, mayonnaise, butter, and a bun. Totaling up to a colossal 1,420 calories, 107 grams of fat (that’s almost 170% of your daily alloted value. 107 grams is over a tenth of a kilogram, that’s almost a quarter of a pound…of straight fat!), and over 63 grams of protein. Maybe we’ll look elsewhere.
(http://www.hardees.com/nutrition/ It’s fun to play around with.)
Wow, that’s really disgusting.
So I’ve gathered (about you and food, that is). Fast metabolisms are a boon :)
Are you a fan of Thai?
No Hardees’ or Arby’s in Louisana? Y’all are deprived…
I’m just kidding. Both places involve sandwiches with a lot of MEAT, specifically BEEF, of which I don’t think you’re a fan, so you’re probably not missing much.
They play George Winston songs at work? Hot dog :)
At least you get 63g of protein, right? That’s something.
Well…nevermind. It’s just gross.
That is a fun site to play around with. I’d rather play around with the Kitten Burger Electronic Latin Jazz Keyboard, though.
I’ve actually never had any Thai food. But I love Mexican, Italian, and Chinese (as long as it’s not spicy), so I’d be willing to try it.
Mmmm Arby’s . . . I just got coupons from them in the mail!
No, no me gusta carne.
