So much for Sarah. After a slew of rejected invitations to various things, she finally turned me down one last time for doubles tennis and mentioned that she and a boy that she was dating when she lived in VA are dating again, so… I’m back to square one. Wonderful.
At least she came out and told me. Didn’t string me along. I guess I could have gotten the hint…but something in me compelled me to keep at it.
I won’t tart it up any. Feel like crap. I think I’m going to go bang around under the hood of the car or play tennis or something. I’m reining in the expletives, so I think I’ll just go before this goes downhill any further.
There’s a purpose here; I know, but in the meantime before the big epiphany…yeah. You know where I’m going with that.

I’m sincerely sorry to hear that, Matt. Let me know if you want to talk.
Prayers.
Oh, that sucks. I’m sorry. I’ve been there.
You’re right, though–at least she told you. And the whole thing was probably a good exercise in trying for something. Sooner or later, your efforts won’t be wasted.
Thanks. I think I already began to see, even in the thick of it, how my efforts weren’t wasted. I mean, at one point I thought to myself, “If I can pony up the guts to ask out one of the most beautiful, complete girls I know, and succeed in securing a date, no less, then asking out anyone even remotely comparable would be a breeze.” In other words, the hesitancy I naturally feel when mulling over the idea of asking out a girl was considerably reduced. There were/are other benefits as well, of course, but that one stuck out.
I was wondering how that was turning out. You’re still in my prayers. In a weird way, though, I’m glad that the rejection happened before you had gotten any farther in your relationship.
I understand what you mean, and I’m glad for that too. Fortunately I kept my emotions from getting wrapped around the whole situation, so the end result wasn’t much more than me getting really, really bummed out for a little while (as opposed to being a basket case for days on end, etc…)
Thanks for the prayers, Christina :)
