my veins are large and oftentimes
i see your reflection in my eyes.
what is a moment between us?
clouds have never seen such stuff
as that which comprises your fingertips.
next to me. intricate collections of three-
worded sentences tumble from our
unencumbered lips. things are not how
they were before, as somehow your
presence reissues into my restraint
a new vigor.
but how i burn, darling, i cannot tell you.
i wish for a world where seasons pass
like rose petals,
to live and extinguish in a moment.
