1. It’s a sleepy day outside, rainy and muted. I’ll venture out in search of caffeine in a few minutes.
2. David, check this out. It covers some of the electron resonance theory I’ve been talking about for years as a means to artificial levitation, although in the article the main application seems to be data storage and communication.

4. Finished the redesign for the Carolina Covenant website. It’s not very flashy, but tasteful and functional, which I think is what they’re going for.
5. Some photos of the most likely house possibility at this point are here. They’re taken from the listing website; I didn’t shoot them. And the furnishings are (obviously) all still present. Ugh. Must think in terms of “potential…”

5. Looks nice. I love the way old houses feel…especially the ceilings. You just dont find interesting ceilings in the newer houses nowadays. And a ‘window room’ is always a wonderful thing. (Again, very cool ceilings.) Wait…so you’d buy the house furnished? At least that’s better than the vacant/abandoned house look, doncha think?

5. No, those pictures were taken before the family moved out… When we visited the house last week they were in the process (some rooms had more clutter than others), but most of the rooms were huge and empty. It’s going to be hard to fill–I just don’t have that much stuff.

The house looks cool. I agree that the ceilings are definitely cool. If you need any random house stuff or help decorating or anything let me know. We’ve always got stuff somewhere that we aren’t using.
The house isn’t too bad right now, it definitely has potential. The bay window and fireplace in the living room are especially nice.
Well, you know with “electron spin,” the electrons don’t actually “spin”. We learned about that a little bit in Modern Physics. It’s just a dummy name. “Spin” is just another property, much like its orbital level. But spin is nice (not only because you get to talk about the Pauli Exclusion Principle) because you can have two electrons which are identical with the exception of their spin (a 1 and a 0 for computing purposes). Keep working on the electron resonance theory and let me know where you get.
You might have the same problem as there mythically exists with Teflon; i.e. if nothing sticks to teflon…how does Teflon stick to anything. So, if electrons repel some things, why not each other? I guess that’s where the resonance comes in..

True…I suppose it doesn’t matter much what the exact label is so long as the principle exists. But that’s interesting to know.
Something that occurred to me recently when thinking about the theory is the possibility that inciting electron spin in order to magnetize a particular atom may have the side effect of giving electrons a predisposition to leave the atom. You’re unbalancing the atom’s natural equilibrium, as it were, and creating free radicals in the process. They can be damaging to living tissue in sufficient quantities, as any GNC lackey who’s read up on antioxidants will tell you.
Oh, so it’s no longer an option? What about the other house(s)?
It’s effectively off the market… The first house’s location was right but it needs a little more work than I’m willing to give it, and the second house’s location just doesn’t work out. Fortunately the realtor passed along a few more possibilities this morning. I reckon we’ll go check them out soon (and I’ll take pictures this time).

That is the Pauli Exclusion Principle in a nutshell (not to leave the atom, but leave it’s orbital level). For instance, there are two electrons in the “s” levels (see the link below) and one electron has to be spin up and the other spin down. If you were to incite the latter one to also have spin up, it would bump up to a higher orbital level. So yeah…it could become tricky.
