Lessons learned from last night’s ordeal:
1. Do not eat a plate of your mom’s beef stroganoff, however good, before polishing off the meal with a glass of milk, half a Hershey bar, and falling asleep for a “nap” 30 minutes later (this all occurred around 9:30 last night, mind you). You will wake up a couple of hours later, by which time it will be nearly midnight and there will really be nothing left for you to do except go back to bed again, rendering one of the chief purposes of the nap, recharging one’s energy for a spurt of activity afterward, useless.
2. There are few more effective means of erasing the lingering feelings of an unpleasant dream than having a pleasant dream upon one’s return to sleep, even if said dream did involve Keira Knightley, who I do not find particularly attractive, in a lead role, it was nice nonetheless (and all quite chaste too, no worries).
3. Being wide awake at 4 a.m. is a great opportunity for a nice long shower, and to catch up on one’s reading.
4. In spite of the above realizations, the day was still off, and I found myself assailed at the most unconventional times with strange emotions pinned to odd moments in my past, like feeling an overwhelming amount of nostalgia for the days of the second semester of my freshman year, when Steven Ramsey and I would hit the gym every other day right after studio, lift for an hour or two before playing racquetball, and then loading up several plates at the dining hall fifteen minutes before they’d close in the evening. Good days. It was a good routine. But hardly worth the tides of feeling ascribed to it for minutes on end by my subconscious at random times during the day.
5. We’re still not there. Going running in half an hour and we’ll see where that leaves us.

Keira Knightley not attractive? I think she’s way cute but perhaps since I’m not a guy I’m not the best judge. I hope you are doing well and I’ll pray that you get more regular sleep (and chaste dreams with more appealing celebrities).
No, not particularly. Her features are just too…exaggerated? I dunno. She just doesn’t look “real” to me–more like a statue or a painting. I prefer women who actually look like women, not stick figures or fashion models or any of that nonsense.
Thank you for the prayers, Rachel :)
