could you do me a favor and call the mac store for me? just the 800 number they list on the website…
I want to buy a mac mini, but since I live in Beijing I wonder if it would be easier, service-wise to buy it here (plus then it will have some Chinese software) but the thing is that I don’t want the OS in Chinese, I’d simply like to be able to write/read Chinese. And also about warranties and if I can get it serviced in any apple store around the world, etc.

No problem. Anything to facilitate the assimilation of another minion into the Mac community :) So…you want me to ask if it’s possible to buy a Mac Mini in China with an English OS? From what I understand most OS’s are pretty universal, and they just add on a language pack to enable you to use the interface in your chosen language. I’ll reckon I’ll ask about that.
Do me one favor, though–tell me whether you’d like me to ship all the cds immediately or whether you’d like me to just hang on to them and give them to you when we meet up in June.
hang on to the cds, I will be there in less than a month (again, assuming that renting a car and paying for the gas isn’t *that* huge an expense) ;)
thanks for the help with the mac questions: also, could you do me a favor and check on your mac if you can see the beijing.usembassy.gov website? It would do me no good to have a computer whose interface prevented me from earning overtime ;)
mac minis are SO cool, its going to be SO hard not to blow my whole paycheck this weekend on buying one (instead of buying food and paying for a rental car in the states, etc).
