My car’s cd player has decided that it now has musical taste. It started acting funny about a month ago and I haven’t yet gotten around to yanking it and invoking the warranty. It still plays cds sometimes, if I put them in just right and, so it would seem, whether the cd player likes that particular artist or band. Some it won’t take no matter what I do; and some it gulps down greedily and starts playing right away. It seems to be all right with U2, which is good, but it doesn’t care for Hooverphonic, which is not good.
It’s raining tonight, which means I’ll have only gotten in three runs and two tennis sessions this week. Sucks.
My car is running perfectly. This is an extraordinarily rare occurrence for me. During my 10-odd years of car ownership, the car(s) in my perview have run perfectly approximately 1.3% of the time. How do I quantify this perfection? The car doesn’t embarrass me as it’s driving down the road, I don’t glance down at the instruments in paranoia every few seconds and 95% of the car’s subsystems work as they should. I wonder how long this will last. It’s been an arduous road to this point, but I supposed I sort of asked for it when I bought the car for $1200. I just hope it stays this way for a while.
I got a realtor two days ago. He’s a great guy who happens to be a good friend and an Audi enthusiast to boot. I had the “interview” with my grandmother on Monday afternoon and she’s willing to assist me with the down payment. I’ve started browsing houses for sale in the Winston-Salem area.
At the moment I’m reading (among others) an excellent book called Stick & Rudder: The Art of Flying. It debunks a lot of the popular misconceptions about flying and pervasive myths that pilots have clung to for years. Very practical stuff. Recommended.

Yeah. I thought you knew? Well I guess I really haven’t broadcast it from the hilltops yet… I heard that you had found a house–that’s really cool :) I think each successive Suffern brother who goes to State is getting progressively better accomodations: I was in the dorm the whole time, Paul was for a couple of years then he got an apartment, and you’re getting a house junior year.
