I am so ridiculously tired. The game’s on right now. If we could block out and get an offensive rebound things would look better–but I’m not complaining at this point. Stephen is loud. Really, really loud. Too loud.

I drove to Winston-Salem this afternoon to talk to an admissions counselor and firm up school plans for the fall. It’s about an hour and a half drive one way, and it’s the first long drive the Audi’s successfully completed. And while I love that car, the wind noise on the highway is well-nigh unbearable after 45 minutes or so… Didn’t help that my 2-month-old, $250 headunit decided to stop playing cds about halfway in to the trip out there, either. The culmination of all this made for a trip that was much more tiring than it should have been. Thank goodness I’ve gotten a decent amount of sleep the past two nights, otherwise I’d have been really sketchy out there on the road.

I shouldn’t complain too much, though–it was a good trip. I have hard numbers for budgeting and hard dates to schedule around. I drove out to the aviation complex, too, about half an hour down I40. They’re in the process of building a new, very large hangar near the airstrip, one that can accommodate five small aircraft and that they’ll use for the mechanical training part of the curriculum. It’s a really nice facility.

More later. There’s no way to tune out Stephen’s exclamations, and they’re just mentally jarring as I try to type.

    leaky windshield?

Doubt it. I had it replaced about six months ago, and the car made the same amount of noise before I did. Doesn’t leak any water, either–at least not to my knowledge. Good suggestion, though.

I think part of it is my sunroof outer seal, which is pretty far gone. Doesn’t leak as there’s a gutter of sorts all around the sunroof that catches the rain, but it sure does make noise.

ahhh, bummer. the windshield gasket on my present car appears to be shot, as it leaks a pretty good amount when it is parked under hard rain, and their is a huge mess of silicone or some other gooey black substance all around the top of it. makes a good bit of noise on the highway as well.

in other news, I am trying really hard not to but this: http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=179235652&dealer_id=56046431&car_year=1986&make=MAZDA&distance=75 the guy is asking way too much.

Yeah, that’s overpriced. Nice, but still overpriced. It’s worth $3K MAX.

my thoughts exactly, if it were a TII maybe it would be woth the 3500, but as it stands no way. if I were to check it out I imagine I’d offer him 2800, but from his perspective that would be knocking nearly a grand off his asking price. ahh I should just get a volvo anyways, haha.
