I should’ve gone into work today and worked on the Gazette. I don’t even have a printout for tomorrow morning… It’s going to be crazy in there for the first few hours; I know it.

It’s freaking cold in here. Even several layers didn’t avail me today as the wind just up and blew right through me. Didn’t spend more time outside than I absolutely had to.

The weekend was fairly good. My birthday proper was yesterday. Thank you to everyone who contacted me with well-wishes–it really, really made me feel great. Verbal affirmation is one of my big means of receiving appreciation, so know that your words meant a lot, possibly more than you know, if words aren’t as much of a conduit for affection for you as they are for me. I hope that made sense.

Hung out with the family yesterday evening. My mom cooked me a celebratory dinner–I requested chicken in a white sauce with cooked carrots, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and a nice white wine to tie it all together. My dad had a bottle of the Biltmore Estate white left–it was strong, but good, and it complemented the meal well.

Tired of these little bullet points. I feel inexplicably rotten. Gonna go figure out why that is.

‘Tis, ’tis…surprisingly good for an American wine, if you ask me. But I’m obviously biased.

The picture. Oh…hahaha. Looks like I need to rig something up, don’t I? :)

Thank you, Mary. The weather didn’t put a damper on it at all, seeing as how I didn’t have any festivities planned outside, and the snow nonsense all occurred the day before the big dinner. So all was good.

the whole point is that it will send a fit of giggles up my spine every time that I think of the wine bottle befitted in a qing dynasty costume sitting in a bachelor pad (of sorts) in Chapel Hill ;)

I shall purchase some Beaujolais tomorrow and dress it up accordingly, madam. Prepare thyself to be in stitches.
