definitely flurries
“Oh, how I love the snoo. Snoo falling from the sky, covering everything. Lovely, wonderful snoo.”
“Don’t you mean ‘snow?’ What’s ‘snoo?'”
“Not much. What snoo with you?”
And… I’m an ass.
The cars and parking lot are covered by this point, and more is falling. I’m not terribly worried–ze German Carmachinenfrügenvaselumphsterpoop (a.k.a. the Audi) has AWD, so traction is never really much of an issue, and can even be quite entertaining in open parking lots with a nice dusting. The thing to remember is that while forward traction, and to a limited extent lateral traction (i.e. turning), are superior to the average car’s, as far as braking is concerned I’m just the same as everyone else, since all cars brake with all four wheels. This knowledge should temper my overconfidence a bit.
My birthday is this Saturday. I want to go out to eat or something equally social with a bunch of people. Maggiano’s would be nice but I kind of lean towards something a little more cozy, and besides, not all of my prospective guests are friendly with Italian (though I enjoy it muchly). We’ll see. More brainstorming ensues.

wtf you have snow?
Yes ma’am we do. It’s kind of useless, really–it’s enough that people are sliding around in intersections, but not enough to have fun with. Boo.
January is the best month to be born in :)
And my good friend Dave’s birthday is on Saturday, as well. We’re going to Epcot, and (even though he turns 26) his parents rented a few hotel rooms for us.
Have fun, whatever you decide to do :)
That was hilarious…dont ask me why, but that was hilarious. Mebbe it was just the accent with which i read it alound in my mind. Made me laugh.
Yes, it is definately a snow day. We have Jo and Alyssa over here all giggling and playing legos or some such thing…hoping all the while that the coldness and snow outside never go away.
So Matt returns to the time of year when he gets to flaunt his automotive advantage over us all. He just gets this almost intolerable air of smugness that can last for weeks (depending on the weather). But behold: the XTERRA! Ah hah! 4 wd + huge honkin’ tires! But then again, it’s my wife’s car. Meanwhile my camaro could barely make it up to one of the parking spaces by our building. It’s laughably absurd. It’s bad enough in rain, much less snow. But then again, if i really cared i would probably run something other than summer tires on it. ;-P
Birthday? Really? Happy birthday, old man! Kristi’s is tomorrow. Guess there are a lot of January birthdays, as well as December ones, eh? April and May must be the months of spring lovin’…
i concur. WTF? everywhere gets snow but me. it snows in boone, in raleigh, but not hickory. happy bday btw. i might have sat off and come join the fun if there’s an invite.
That “intolerable air of smugness” bit is a direct Jeremy Clarkson quote :) And hey, y’all have me licked the rest of the year, so I flaunt it when I can.
Thanks for the birthday wishes :) I sent out another e-mail just a few minutes ago about the get-together.
I concur (about January). If nothing else it makes it really easy for other people to ascertain our age if they know the year in which we were born–no funky math required.
And thank you! I think we’re just going to have a nice dinner tomorrow. Nothing half so exciting as Epcot :)
Oh I’m sure you’ll get the white stuff soon enough. Do you want snow?
Thanks :) We’re having a get-together tomorrow night (it was the best time for all involved). Probably won’t work for you, but if it does, it would be great if you could make it. Let me know if you want more details.
Snow is pretty and all…
But that traffic yesterday was a bunch of crap. It seriously took me almost 3 hours to go 10 miles to my house. At one point it took 25 minutes to go .3 miles. I can walk back wards faster than that. Anyways, I love Italian too, just it hates me. Ha! I am looking forward to the birthday celebration… I think I may know the asst. manager at Maggiano’s. I think I ran with him in h.s.- maybe he will hook you up with a discount. At the very least I bet we can get you free dessert with embarrassing clapping and singing!
I know somebody that took 4 hours to go 15 miles…so I can certainly believe it. I’m so glad that I don’t have to take any major highways to get to and from work. Weren’t you starving after 3 hours in the car? I’d have been.
I thought it was just tomato sauce that didn’t like you? Is there going to be something there you can eat and be okay? If not we can always just meet there and head to P.F.Chang’s across the street (yay cellphones). Seriously. I don’t want you to be doubled over by the end of the meal. But I’m glad you’re coming :)
Free dessert, eh? Hmm… *mentally weighs whether a free dessert is worth clapping and singing* If it involves chocolate, okay!
Is it still snowy?
Not really…it’s still cold, so the snow lingers in places, but it’s pretty much all gone. We’re supposed to get two inches tonight, though. Yay.
I want to comment on your entry plz.
I’m so jealous of yor snow, Matt. Send some this way.
Go for it.
