afternoon notes
1. I bought Jobs for Travel Lovers last night at Barnes & Noble. I ducked in for five minutes to buy an issue of european car (I really need to get a subscription to that), since B&N is pretty much the only place I can find it, and on a whim perused the “Careers” section of the store on my way back up to the register. Somehow when I arrived at the register with book and magazine in hand the cashier felt compelled to tell me all about her trip to KeyWest for Spring break and the “booze cruise” she went on. But it wasn’t unpleasant conversation.
2. I have enough of those little Subway stamps for a free foot-long sub. w00t.
3. Bought a bulletin board and a hanging file box last night at Walmart on the same shopping trip as above. I put on some They Might Be Giants (oddly fitting, actually) and waded through a 6-inch high mount of papers on the bedroom floor, getting everything filed away. My life is now completely organized. From a paperwork standpoint, at least. Wish I could say the same about my work environment… Heh.
4. I have never owned a car with a cupholder.
5. Anybody want to go see Sonic Youth with me at the Cradle on Aug. 19? Tickets are $25, which is kinda steep, but they put on a great show from all accounts I’ve heard.
6. I still can’t snap with my right hand. Left is fine, but for some reason my right is defective when it comes to snapping.

You can’t snap with your right hand? I don’t think we can be friends anymore.
Shoot. Okay…. What if I practice really hard? Can I be admitted back into your cadre of friends then?
Does that book have some good info? Sounds like something I need to pick up myself, let me know if it’s worth it.
I’ll be going to that Sonic Youth show. The price is a tad steep for Chapel Hill (same as the DC show), but I think it will be worth it. I am disappointed at the concert schedule here this summer, so I’m taking the opportunity to see anything of interest.
It does have good info–websites, resources, job ideas, cultural tactics, etc… I’ll probably write about it in greater detail when I’ve finished it completely.
I’ve been disappointed at the concert schedule too–might have to do some traveling to see something worthwhile this summer. Cool that you’re going to the Sonic Youth show, though :o)
I can’t make any promises.
Wait. Are you right-handed or left-handed?
Predominantly right-handed, but I do certain things with my left hand, like shaving and brushing my teeth. Not quite sure why that is.
Hope you’re having a lovely morning :o)
