Probably a good idea to clean out the bottom of the toaster oven when it catches on fire just trying to toast a couple of muffin halves. I congratulated myself afterwards, though, in reaching instinctively for a glass of water and extinguishing the fire quickly enough so that the smoke detectors remained silent. Didn’t even disturb my roommates and their respective significant others as they watched the rest of Anne of Avonlea in the living room (“Um, John, the toaster just caught on fire. It’s out now.” “Huh? What?”). But yeah… no peanut butter muffins for me last night.

Going to Albuquerque again tomorrow; what joy is mine. This past week has been insane, so they’ll have to understand that I’ve not had the chance to be quite as prolific this time around in the depth of my design development. Ah well. They know I can deliver the goods, at least, from last time. If this is going to be a reasonably frequent occurance, which I hope it’s not, I should start tallying up frequent flyer miles. I’m just going for the day, which reasonates in my mind like it’s a trip just down the road or something, and then I realize I’m flying three quarters of the way across the country. The fact that it would be a feat of some magnitude to succeed in explaining that to a citizen of centuries past amuses me slightly.
