Something just occurred to me on the way back from the car wash in the Audi.
There isn’t a center console in the car–the gearshift’s pedestal ends before the fronts of the seats, and when the handbrake is released, there’s nothing obstructing the valley between the seats.
What does this mean? Unlike my two other cars, with massive center tunnels in the cabin, a girl (or myself, if she’s taking a turn driving) could easily lay her head down in my lap and sleep as I drove, if she wanted to. It’s the first car I’ve owned since Twinkie where that’s been possible. Hmm.

Oooh, that sounds wonderful and blissful :)
That’s cool that you’d let a girl drive. I hate being with guys that always insist on driving… it makes me feel like they don’t trust me.
:) Yay for you and da Audi.
Funny you should mention that… I’ve been stupid before on that point. A couple of years ago I drove up to Pennsylvania for a day in order to pick up a friend who had become stranded there and needed to get back on account of school. Driving back, the trip took 10 hours, all of which I drove, against the mild protestations of my then-girlfriend, who had accompanied me. I drove from 9 in the evening till 7 the next morning… It got to the point where I started hallucinating, imagining the highway stretched out in front of me as a giant bowling lane, among other things.
But yeah. I usually prefer to drive, but I don’t get all hung up on it if she wants to take a turn :o)
