Everything is cold. Everywhere I go, everything I touch is frigid. I tossed and turned last night, pulled the layers of blankets up over me to try and capture some semblance of warmth–and it’s there, to a degree, but never to the point of being satisfied. A warm shower did wonders, but it just seems to warm the surface of me for a while, and the inside remains cold. I’m wishing for Spring again.
Finally got rid of the Christmas tree two days ago. It held up remarkably well given that I really didn’t water it for the past two weeks or so, and Donald and I were joking that it must have been genetically engineered or some such tomfoolery. I pulled it out the front door of the apartment, down the stairs, and threw it into the bed of the truck, which I borrowed. The tree left a trail of debris and needles behind it all the way up into the apartment, and it looked for all the world like it had been dragged out onto the porch and beaten. I swept everything up after I returned from work yesterday. It was a great tree, lovely, sweet-smelling, and well-proportioned, with no bare spots to speak of. We’ll miss it. After a while, that is–it was getting rather silly to have had it there.
And my birthday is tomorrow! Gosh. Just remembered that. I’m asking for… new glasses, some music, and maybe a tool or two. I want to keep it pretty low-key anyway. On vera ce que va arriver demain. Je ne veux pas qu’on s’en occupe.

祝你生日快乐!!!
you know, I think that today is my friend Laura’s bday too (thats the one in China) but she is in a peasant village at the moment and beyond contact (and its gotta be *really* cold out there, I don’t even want to think about it).
on christmas trees: have you ever seen the episode of friends with pheobe fighting for the trees? funniness.
Bah humbug :o)
haha
I wasn’t pining for winter, as I recall… Well maybe I was. But not desperately.
And something tells me that you were just teasing and I’m getting overdefensive again. So I’ll stop now :o)
Hey! No kidding… It has been a while. Good to hear you’re doing well, though. And thanks for the birthday congrats :o)
I wish my computer could read the Chinese characters instead of just showing question marks… Ah well. Silly western alphabets…
I haven’t seen that Friends episode. Though it comes on in syndication at 7 p.m. every night and we’ve been watching it pretty frequently–I might see it yet :o)
Hey.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
誕生日おめでとう!
My name is Elyse and I write messages with foreign characters to those who can’t read it.
(By the way, that’s Happy Birthday in Japanese.)
I merely said “happy birthday” in Chinese (which I’m sure you could have figured out anyways) ;)
yes, I almost got myself addicted to it (friends, that is) so I am quite proud of myself for staying “friends free” for the moment, though it is funny stuff. I just ended up watching like, whole seasons at a time.
