David’s team lost their soccer game earlier this evening to Maryland. So barring a miracle, NCSU won’t get a bid to the NCAA tourney this year… David was dazed; I could tell. Don’t know if the reality of it all had set in yet. I’m sure he’s devastated, though–I’d be, even as a freshman with three more years to look forward to, as he has. It was one of the ugliest games I’ve seen, with rampant fouls, name-calling, and boisterousness from the crowd. But it was good to watch the game in spite of everything, even if we were freezing up in the stands. I found my scarf earlier this morning, so that helped, and the toboggan completed my winter insulation (above and beyond the normal coat and sweater, that is).

Had Chinese with Dad after the game. David I think was going to debrief with the coach and then spend some time with Amanda. I really enjoyed hanging with my dad–we hadn’t done that in a while, and the food was good too. I had shrimp and chicken stir-fry and we talked about his recent trip to Europe, my prospects in just about every arena of life, the necessary physique for eating at Bojanges, the youth leadership team, and the girls he dated before he met my mom… Among other things. It was just… really really good.
