Saw Runaway Jury last night with Donald. John and Kristi were supposed to show up but didn’t. I mentioned to Donald that I’m sure they were having fun wherever they were… Heh. But it was a good movie with lots of quite good acting and a fast pace that kept your attention. Nice twist at the end, too. It’s interesting to watch a movie where your loyalties are split somewhat, where you feel sympathy for several of the parties involved; in other words, there wasn’t a clear “good guy” and “bad guy” until two-thirds or so of the way through the movie. It’s recommended. Oh, and I wouldn’t mind dating Rachel Weisz, either. Yep.
Cat and house sitting this week since my parents are in Europe. My dad is on a business trip to Germany and my mom accompanied him, as they’ll be travelling to Romania afterwards to visit some recently-moved missionary friends. My dad called me two days ago, and evidently they’re in a hotel in Bonn overlooking the Rhine. I told him to take pictures, and he did. So perhaps I’ll post them upon their return.
In any case, cat sitting is somewhat gratifying, since Cleo has to pay more attention to me now that I’m the sole server of the food and cleaner of the litter box. So she’s less nonchalant than she usually is, which is nice–a warm, furry, affectionate animal isn’t something I’ll object to.
I want to see that movie. Did you read the book? Was it the same ending? I loved the book. I want to reread all these books that I read in high school!
I haven’t read the book, although one of my roommates has… Apparently in the book the organization on trial is big tobacco instead of the gun industry, but I suppose they had to make concessions and adaptations for the movie. You should see it! ‘Tis quite good.
I want to see Runaway Jury mainly because it was filmed entirely in Louisiana. Plus it stars John Cusack…
It’s not a typical John Cusack quirky movie, but he is good in the film–not miscast at all. And there was some French (albeit Cajun) in the movie too. So I enjoyed that.
Cajun French… eh. You can only hear “laissez les bon temps rouler” so many times before you want to hurl. Because that is, of course, the only think spoken in Cajun French. Right.

i decided to post this with the movies thing… but it has nothing to do with that (well, sorta). anyway. onward.
so, remember the drawing that i entered and you so politely declined? well, i won the tv/vcr combo. i have no need of it as we have a nice tv and vcr. as a thanks (and it is not too much a thanks as it costs me nothing), would you like the combo? if you want it and you feel it is over the top for simply driving my car… you could listen to my brakes (they are making a funny noise sometimes) and we could call it even*.
*this is not essential. you can simply take the tv/vcr.
