Sometimes I wonder whether having someone in bed next to me would make it easier to sleep at night or just harder to get up in the morning because I’d want to still be in bed with them. I think both, maybe? But things would just be worse if I hadn’t gotten enough sleep, and the fact that they’re still in the bed would make it all the more appealing to call in to work, and everything that entails.

In any case, I’m sleepy. Quite so in fact. I was torn away this morning by the alarm from dreams I didn’t want to leave, from a sleep I didn’t want to wake. The peanut butter muffins only go so far, and the commute in the truck isn’t the most pleasant experience in the world, though it does have a better heater than I give it credit for–which isn’t always a good thing in my state of alertness.

The longings are particularly acute this morning. I think part of it is simply that my mind tends to get fixated at length on the most diverse things when I’m waking. For example, one morning I’ll wake up with a Cardigans song in my head, the next I’ll wake stuck on the line from High Fidelity, “But I have to say that my all-time favorite book is Johnny Cash’s biography Cash by Johnny Cash,” and so on and so forth. And this morning, as I was putting on my shoes, the thought entered my mind that I wished someone had been there, someone I could have tucked in and kissed before I left for work, and like the good brain that it is, I’ve been replaying scenarios in my head that involve that longing for about half an hour now. I mean, only something like that could have let me ramble on as long as I have about the same subject. The banality of this whole ‘graph is overwhelming, but my fingers keep moving.

Good morning.

    Good afternoon.

    :)

    You doing okay?

    Hi :o)

Yes, I’m doing well. It was the weirdest feeling, but it was like I spontaneously woke up a second time around 10 a.m. One minute I was dragging; my eyelids were drooping, the next I was fully awake. ‘Twas odd.

    How’s your day been?

Sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever be able to fall asleep next to another human being again . . . but I look forward to the person I know God is bringing me in order to love me and for me to take care of.

    Sleep? What’s sleep?

    *hugs*

Just wanted to say hi, even though I haven’t been commenting lately.

I was thinking that same thought the other day….however I have never experienced it so I am not sure as to what that entails and all the feelings in it! However that has been a thought I have pushed away several times…..perhaps it would make things easier….but God meets us in our most difficult times so perhaps that’s why neither of us have someone to wake up next to!

So anyway….if you ever want to hang out give me a call! 252-396-1291

Glad you are well! My day was great before and after art history… Art history itself, though, was lame. Love art. Love history. Dislike art history class.

    Tada!

Hi Christina :o) Thanks for the note, and the hug.

I haven’t been commenting much lately either. Gotta work on that.

And agreed, sleep is a foreign concept these days…

I’ve speculated 2856397 ways about it… It just all comes back to patience, I think. But it’s nice to know someone else thinks abou these things too.

Hope you’re having a good Wednesday, Emma :o)

I’ve actually pushed off ALL social activities this week until Friday because of these tests that I’ve had to deal with, and I’ve been getting more sleep lately. It’s a good thing, I think.

But then, my Friday looks to be packed: I’m heading to Islands of Adventure (Universal Studios) during the day, and at night there’s a HUUUUGE party I’m going to grace with my presence. As soon as I wake up on Saturday, I’m heading back home for a few days. I hope this will help me clear my stress level! :)

When I can get hold of a long-distance phone card, I’ll give you a ring. Okay. Done. It’s on my shopping list for tonight. So…yeah.

    :o)

Good for you for prioritizing school over social stuff. I made the mistake of reversing those two many times during college–didn’t always regret it, either, but pulling an all-nighter or two to catch up isn’t fun.

Being home for a few days does clear my stress levels…but then I just want to be back in the apartment again. As much as I enjoy my mom’s cooking, there’s just something about doing it myself…

    Have fun Friday :o)
