Wow. Long day. I’m wiped out–should be in bed, but that’s something I tell myself every night, so why break the trend now? I’m going for the record, the goal, the gusto, the sauce, the toejam, the autographed pipe organ, the reciprocating carrot, the sheer and utter randomness that alienates me from the rest of humanity and makes them think I’m smoking something when they’re not looking. Well, this entry started off well…

Youth group tonight was just a fun night, a night where we play games with the youth. I originally thought we were going to be relegated to boring inside stuff when it starting raining, as it has been wont to do all weekend, but Paul and I were dead-set on doing something outside regardless of whether it started coming down, and we did. Turns out we had an awesome game of ultimate with most of the guys in the youth group (I think there were about half a dozen to a team); everyone participated, made some good grabs, and played serious D. Then Paul and co. decided to turn the middle of the field in front of the church (which was already pretty far gone) into a giant mud pit by using the hose and having sliding contests. I pitched the frisbee in there so they could do layout contents (kinda like the slam dunk of ultimate), but getting soaked to the skin and up to my waist in mud is where I drew the line. I’ll save picking mud out of my ears three days later for another time.

The guys came over again for their (almost nightly now) game of loser, eating chips, listening to music, and just hanging out. It’s really fun (especially when everyone takes showers after the ultimate game).

The car group caught a matinee of 2 Fast 2 Furious. It was…entertaining. Crappy dialogue, wooden acting, no chemistry, horribly miscast, but somehow it was…alright. It’s a bit mystifying. The cars perhaps?
