Barley

I’ve said it before: Lasagna is the world’s best reheated food, bar none, especially when it’s Diane’s. She took my mom’s recipe and put her own spin on it, creating a dish that’s tasty and unique and fully the equal of its inspiration. So good.

We finally got around to watching The Astronaut Farmer on Saturday night. From a technical standpoint (that is, the engineering in the film)–and this is important to me–the film is less than successful, but from a dramatic angle it’s better. The film is beautifully shot, the cinematography owing a lot to wide-angle epics like The Right Stuff, but the uneven script puts a damper on things. There are still some inspiring moments, especially near the end when things start to go right. The technical inaccuracies were hard to look past, though. Two and a half stars.

Back home, later today. Tried to install Dreamweaver earlier to assist in setting up the website, only to discover that the copy I purchased, while labeled “WIN/MAC” from Macromedia themselves, only appears to contain Windows installer software. Really frustrated. I’ve tried several different techniques to fiddle with the procedure, but none of them have worked out. Maybe there’s a “software swap” site online where I can trade someone for a dedicated Mac version. Ugh.
