Today was a wonderful 30th birthday. I’m fortunate to work for a company that actually gives its employees the day off for their birthday; not only that, they give us the flexibility to choose the day as well (within reason). I chose tomorrow to make it a nice long three-day weekend.
We’re visiting my parents tomorrow in Chapel Hill, and Diane and I have a date lined up for Saturday night: dinner and pops tickets to the NC Symphony. I can’t remember what the show’s about, but it’s always a good time.
Diane and Luke made some cupcakes (which the kids heartily enjoyed) and I received Spaceflight, a book that I checked out from the library recently and just fell in love with. It’s chock full of details from every era and milestone in the history of space exploration. The illustrations have to be seen to be believed–they have every space vehicle from Sputnik to Orion computer-modeled in truly stunning detail. And there are beautiful photographs, bio, technical specifications. It’s definitely worth owning.
