It was a good day. My stage check (test) in Flight II this morning went very well. I found Montgomery County Airport on the first try (evidently only about half of the students do–the other 50% go tooling around the vicinity until they happen upon it). Granted, I was nearly on top of it when I did spot it, so I had a few thousand feet to kill, but that’s relatively minor (although something to work on).

David‘s all moved in, though not totally moved into his room. In other words, all his stuff is stashed around the house in some capacity. The good news as far as filling the house is concerned is that he brings with him copious numbers of knick-knacks and framed pictures and posters, items the house had been sorely lacking. He and Harsha are hitting it off well; they’ve been in the kitchen chatting for the past hour or two.

Only observation about the game last night (I will refrain from commenting on the officiating): From what I can tell, the key to the Rolling Stones’ appeal seems to be the fact that everybody knows their songs and can sing along. This also seems to be the key to Jimmy Buffett’s appeal (other than the whole going-to-the-concert-to-get-plastered thing).

Random old pictures I found whilst rummaging around the hard drive:

Crappy project for Design Fundamentals, first semester studio at NCSU. It’s supposed to be a visual representation of my design process. I threw it together from found objects at around 4 a.m. The idea was to show how many possible alternatives (the grey protrusions at the base) come and go and don’t result in a product. The design progresses in an upward direction, one alternative finally becoming finished product.

The original Gazette crew (minus Gary, the managing editor): Scott, myself and Susan. Susan and I still keep in touch. We became great friends over the course of the two and a half years I was there. So much fun.

John and Steve at the former’s bachelor party, July ’04. I miss those guys; even though I still see them quite a bit they’re an hour and a half away. I just like this picture.

One of my favorite childhood toys, Betty the hand puppet shark.

She’s a little worn, but she still accompanies me wherever I go.

Myself and Joel dropping a new (old) engine into the white Supra, fall ’03. The engine is suspended by the hoist at right. I’m holding a zip tie, one of the magical ingredients that holds the world together (along with duct tape and hot glue).

Before all the nonsense started. The 240Z parked in the garage with the Supra’s old (old) engine at right. I just like the way this picture is framed, its composition, nevermind the mess.

I used to have a real issue with throwing away old peanut butter containers.

Goatee + shaved head + old glasses. Fall ’03 (?).

I took loads of pictures from my daytrip to northwestern Virginia that fall. Here’s a tree-lined country road.

    Haaaaaaay :)

I’ve actually seen a good bit of these.

But the peanut butter one? Amazing. I have some of that exact kind in my cupboard right now.

    Hallo to you :)

    Yeah, you have.

I wish those were like, Nutella jars. You should take a picture of your cupboard.

  3. i checked out your entry last night before heading to bed.

this morning, i couldn’t figure out why i was dreaming about sharks. so thanks for that, haha. :)

lol @ the PB. are you a jelly or honey person? or fluff, for that matter…

  4. admin says:

Hahaha :) So great. Stuffed sharks or real ones?

Re:jelly or honey–Neither. I don’t make sandwiches with it; I spread it on warm toast or toasted waffles. Perfection.

I mean really… wow. That’s about all I can muster at the moment!

Oooo you said it! I love the way peanut butter gets all melty and gooey (and better, in my opinion) when spread on a nice toasty slice of wheat bread! (Although, I prefer JIF.)

You know… upon further consideration, you really could have a Superman/Clark Kent thing goin’ on if you wanted to…

  8. justagoddess says:

You know… glasses on, Clark Kent… glasses off, Superman. But no one knew he was the same person.

    Mild-mannered MAI student by day…

    : )

    Hahaha :)

I forget that I almost always have my glasses on these days…

Yeah… I don’t think I’ve ever seen you without them… other than in pictures.

Are you hiding super powers too?? Or shall that remain a mystery as well?
